Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) offers a unique program of training on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. A cutting-edge curriculum, with innovative use of technologies and simulations, provides the best possible training for tomorrow’s veterinarians. Students benefit from seven semesters of integrated preclinical and clinical studies at our St Kitts campus, and one year of clinical training at our affiliate veterinary teaching hospitals in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia.
Our ongoing research focuses on key issues strategically relevant to One Health in tropical and developing countries and includes zoonotic diseases, food safety and security, environmental health, and conservation medicine. We prioritize recruitment of talented faculty and are now seeking a key new member of our team to join us as we develop new programs to best prepare our graduates to face the global opportunities and challenges of veterinary medicine in the 21st century.
Job Description
Opportunity at a Glance
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team at the Ross University Veterinary Clinic. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of certified/licensed/registered veterinary technicians and nurses, veterinary assistants, and faculty, supporting both clinical operations and limited teaching responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth daily operation of the Veterinary Clinic.

Perform a full range of small animal veterinary technician duties, including:
Dentistry
Patient care and nursing
Anesthesia induction and monitoring

Supervise and train veterinary assistants in routine procedures such as:
Venipuncture
IV catheter placement
Administration of medications (IV, IM, PO)
Use of fluid pumps and diagnostic testing
Surgical preparation and chemotherapy administration
Assist with setting up teaching laboratories and provide guidance to veterinary assistants in lab preparation.
Maintain active licensure and ensure compliance with AAHA and AVMA accreditation requirements.
Uphold all institutional policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Certified/Licensed/Registered Veterinary Technician/Nurse (required).
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a certified veterinary technician, or equivalent experience (required).
