Job Description

Opportunity at a Glance
Provides nursing service and first aid to students, faculty and staff who become ill or injured on premises
Responsibilities

  • Takes patient's vital signs treat wounds and evaluate physical condition of patient.
  • Screens patient for Doctor.
  • Contacts Doctor to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed.
  • Maintains record of persons treated, and prepares accident reports where appropriate.
  • Ensures that clinic is properly equipped.
  • Ensures first aid boxes are adequately stocked.
  • Assists Physician in medical examinations.
  • Provides general nursing care and initial care for referrals and emergencies
  • Maintains adequate supplies and Health Center Inventory
  • Performs a variety of tasks related to providing general nursing care and the delivery of health services in the Health Center
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

  • a Nursing Diploma Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the field of nursing at a supervisory level. Required
  • Should be familiar with Barbadosn standard nursing concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works under the general supervision of the Director of Student Health Services
  • Registered Nurse or Certificate Required and
  • Certified registered Nurse licensed to practice in Barbados Required
