Position Overview:

The position responsibilities include participation in teaching principles of equine medicine, to veterinary students in several team-taught courses, including Large Animal Medicine 1, Introduction to Clinics, Essential Veterinary skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the team’s responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of equine medicine related courses comply with requirements for national and international accreditation, and facilitate optimal student learning. Additionally we seek candidates with the ability to obtain external funding and contracts, participating in national and/or international committees in their area of expertise as well as producing quality publications.  Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The School seeks to attract first-class candidates for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Equine Animal Internal Medicine position. Candidates with a proven track record of innovation in approaches to learning and teaching, and the ability to constantly update an undergraduate veterinary curriculum are preferred.

  • DVM or equivalent is required. Board certification in Large Animal Internal Medicine (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or ECEIM (European College of Equine Internal Medicine) or similar or eligibility to sit for exams is also required. 
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an MSc, PhD, or equivalent post-secondary degree(s)
  • Willingness to reside in St Kitts.

Additional Information

Salary is very competitive with US based universities and there is no income tax in St. Kitts which could result in an increase to your net salary. As an expatriate, you may still be responsible to report income in your home country. Additional benefits include a significant relocation and repatriation package, health insurance, generous annual continuous education budget and annual travel benefit, geographical living allowance to offset cost of living differences, retirement match (up to 4% of your salary) and 7 weeks paid leave between semesters.
